Tiny moments in Nature..

 Some small things in nature are happening all the time but we choose not to pay attention to these small moments which are impactful parts in major occurrences in the natural world.

For example, once I was standing in my balcony and spotted two small house sparrows hovering about on the window sill of the neighbouring house. It was clear to me that they were one male and one female each but what were they doing? The female sparrow was fluttering around the male and was pulling his tail. Most people wouldn't pay much attention to this whole situation but this is quite an important thing as a female sparrow pulling the tail feathers of a male can mean a few things such as, the female trying to defend her territory or acting with aggression towards the male to reject a mate. Some say that she might even be acting like that due to a dispute over food. Overall this is quite an amusing thing to watch.

Another small sight in nature is that of the Indian Pond Heron while it hunts in a swamp or pond. It can remain still for a long time before it spots a fish in the water and dives to try and catch it. Once I had seen this amazing occurrence while I was sitting by a pond that had a sort of island in the middle. The heron was walking slowly around the edge of the land and after waiting and observing the water for quite some time, swiftly dived into the water and came up with a sleek fish.

So you see readers, if one keeps their eyes open even when present in the middle of a bustling city, they can catch sight of tiny activity in nature which can actually be part of something significant.

 India has many strange yet intriguing creatures, living amidst the wilderness, but, one of my favourite is a bird called the Sclater's Monal. This proud beauty is endemic to the eastern Himalayas and has been sighted many times in Arunachal Pradesh in India. Along with its glossy wings and orange-tipped tail, the looks of the male bird  rivals that of its cousin, the Himalayan Monal. The bird has been named in memory of a british zoologist named, Philip.L.Sclater. These pheasents feed mostly on seeds, small mamals, leaves and more. These folk, however, make a sound which may seem alarming when compared with its looks. It gives out a line of shrill chattering and a high pitched shriek at the end. However, even though this bird's conservation status is that of least concern, its population is decreasing mainly due to the loss of its habitat. Wildlife and Extinction

 When I was around 6 years old, I started to develop a keen interest in birds, which I seem to have kept alive. I am from India, a land with so many species of birds.I have observed and created observation charts on many of them. Even though I am proud to see the number of many birds increase, there are also many endangered birds not only in my country but all over the world. From my point of view, this should be considered a major problem globally, not mentioning that many animals have become extinct during the last century. There are many birds and animals, about whom many people have never even heard of, such as the Bugun Liocichla, a bird in the small, yet wild Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary, Arunachal Pradesh. This species 's conservation status is "critically endangered" and there are only about 25-250 mature individuals in the area. Forest Owlet

 To many people, owls are a symbol of wisdom and knowledge. In many places, these birds are actually quite common, but we should keep in mind before going into detail that the Typical owl family has 13 endangered species, 24 vulnerable species and 3 critically endangered species, along with the Barn owl family's 4 vulnerable species and 1 endangered species.... Today's subject is the adorable Forest Owlet, an endangered species of the Typical owl family. This voracious predator is characterized by its brown feathers, white belly, yellow beak and, of course,  fierce talons. Its big round eyes are always on the lookout for a meal. This term can be used for a wide variety of prey in this bird's case, including rodents, lizards, skinks, frogs and insects.
